Whether you come as a Camper for the whole weekend or just as a Day Visitor we provide the very best location with full showground facilities, a wide range of traders, a choice of 5 music venues plus a whole lot of other entertainment and vehicle activities to suit all tastes.

The festival began as a small event run by a tight knit group of friends who all attended and helped put on various other shows at the time an all had a deep passion for their vans, putting on an excellent show to be proud of and having a great time doing it. The original concept was that the festival would be a “Classic Van” event for all makes of vehicle. Around 1000 vans attended the first VANFEST in 1994 However, it was very clear from the start that it was going to evolve into a major Transporter event & very soon established itself as the largest/only major VW Transporter event in the country.
A series of massive “Big” displays (Big VW 1997, Big Bay 1999, & finally the Big Split in 2003) gave the show international recognition and further increased its size to the extent that Vanfest had to become a separate organisation & became a limited Company in 2004. In 2011, due to various reasons it became necessary to close the original “Vanfest” event & relaunch as BUSFEST. Still the same fantastic family show – just under a different name.
At BUSFEST 2013 we celebrated 20 years of VW Transporter Events at Malvern with another “BIG VW” Display and then again in 2018 we presented the BIG VW MALVERN Display to celebrate 25 years.
It has been at times a very rocky road, but BUSFEST has managed to take the (right) necessary measures at the right moments to survive the recent turmoil that has resulted from the pandemic, extreme weather conditions & subsequent massive increase in production & operating costs. This has all been done but a very dedicated BUSFEST Crew who work tirelessly to bring you the very best weekend of VW Transporter fun. But we must also thank everyone else who has sponsored & supported the event over the years, especially the Three Counties Staff who work very closely with us throughout the year to ensure that whatever the weather (or other obstacles we may encounter) Busfest will always be something to look forward to in September. We just celebrated our THIRTIETH year of presenting VW Transporter Events at Malvern. A major achievement, which we as a team are very proud of. We look forward to meeting you all (and a whole lot more new Transporter Fans) again in 2025 at Malvern for the BIGGEST and BEST truly INTERNATIONAL VW TRANSPORTER FESTIVAL anywhere!
