If you’re into your Syncros you might be interested in our Syncrofest held near Aberystwyth in Wales, where each day you’ll head out in groups to tackle some challenging Green Laning routes and put your Syncro’s to the test

12th – 13th July 2025

You’ll need to make sure your vehicle is up to the task as some of these route’s are no joke, their group has lots of helpful information about what you need, what to check, what to expect etc. The group is made up of lots of adventurous and experienced individuals who will be happy to help anyone looking to get into Green Laning.

Here’s a great video from Jay one of our 2022 attendees and his group showing off their skill (and impromptu gardening) to give you an idea of the routes and beautiful scenery you can expect.

Where is it?

The site is near Aberystwyth in Wales. Ty Isaf Farm, Llanilar, SY23 4NP
**please ensure to camp on the grass and not the dirt patches as these may be being reseeded**

When is it?

The event takes place on the 12th – 13th of July. You may arrive at the site from Thursday (10th) evening until Monday (14th) morning.

Tickets?

Tickets are £30 a head and can be purchased HERE.
We highly recommend joining the VW 4×4 Green Laning Group to see updates, learn more about the event, and connect with others attending.

Rules & requirements?

There are a few rules and requirements for taking part:
– All green laning participants (Drivers) will be required to sign a Liability Release Waiver Form.
– All participating vehicles will be scrutineered prior to the greenlaning sessions (vehicles deemed to not be capable (or safe) for green lane activities will not be permitted to join the groups.
– All vehicles must be licensed & insured/taxed for road use
– 5mph speed limit for vehicles
– We must give way to all other users to if you see a motorcyclist or anyone else using the route ensure you stop and give way to them
– Stay in your groups and unless you are at the back always ensure you can still see the person behind you in your rearview mirror. Do not leave people behind
– Do not go off the course. This is not an off-roading event.

What should my vehicle have?

1) CB Radio channel EU 30
2) Fuel up the night before! (and get your essential on board nibbles/drinks smokes etc)
3) Bring your own rubbish bags! (to take your rubbish back home)
4) PLEASE bring (at least!) one good spare wheel with you to allow for any punctures or other mishaps (and avoid lots of lengthy scenic stops while we wait for flat tyres to be pumped up!)
5) Undercarriage protection for your vehicle

We highly recommend joining the VW 4×4 Green Laning Group on Facebook for more help and guidance on what your vehicle should have equipped to be able to cope with the routes. Your vehicle will be checked before you head out in your groups but we wouldn’t want you to come all this way and not be able to participate

The site is near Aberystwyth in Wales.

This is a very bare bones site, no electric will be available but there will be toilets, toilet emptying point & running water as well as fridges for keeping food chilled. Tom, the owner of the land will also bring out his amazing handmade BBQ for anyone to cook on

Please bring your own food and ensure to take any litter home with you as livestock is kept in this field. There are no rubbish points on site.
